Singer Misha Safanov and director Ramy Youseff plan out a scene for Jet Lat's new video for "Fit to be Tied," which is featued on Buzznet.com.

This weekend, I met up with the members of Jet Lag Gemini in the humble dwellings of my first floor room in Campion Towers. Singer/Vocalist Misha Safanov sat down and answered a few questions about the band's current tour with All American Rejects, a brand-new music video and various other happenings.

Jesse DeFlorio : You guys are currently in the beginning of a 6-week tour with All American Rejects. How have the shows been going so far?
Misha Safanov: Absolutely amazing! The crowd is like a pack of wild animals ready to get sweaty and rock out. All the people on the tour are also extremely friendly and outgoing, so there's never a dull moment.

JD: You recently premiered a new music video for "Fit To Be Tied" last week on Buzznet. Can you describe the process of making the video?
MS: It started out as an experiment. We didn't tell anyone about it and decided that if we make a video ourselves, we can have complete creative control over the whole thing and not really spend any money on it if it came out bad. Our friend, Ramy Youssef, who had prior experience with film, helped us out a lot with the filming process. With a ton of planning and budgeting, we only spent $30 on this video, which is amazing because it looks better than some of the more expensive videos we've seen.

JD: Why is this the best music video ever made?
MS: Because you, Jesse DeFlorio, are one of the cameos.

JD: Did you like the freedom of being able to take your time while filming the video and shoot[ing] it over a period of a few days?
MS: Yes and no. It's great to have the freedom to do whatever we want and whenever we want. However, the stress involved in planning something like this definitely ends up balancing the costs.

JD: Prior to getting the AAR tour, you had planned on writing a record. Do you plan on writing during the tour, and if so, will you be playing any new songs any time soon?
MS: We are actually playing two new songs on this tour. Funny story, we've noticed some people mouthing the words to these new songs and there is no way anyone could ever know them since we had just started playing them with ever putting anything up online... Caught red-handed!!! However, we do appreciate the effort.

JD: Could you describe the events that occured at the end of the summer when your trailer was broken into? Did you ever think you'd see any of the equipment that was stolen again?
MS: It felt like a swift kick to the groin. We had just gotten back from a cancelled tour with Zebrahead and parked our trailer, without unloading it. The next morning we wake up with a call from the police saying our trailer was broken into. It's almost unbelievable that they found all our equipment.

JD: What records are you currently listening to in the van?
MS: DJ Dan D's usual van mix of Guns n' Roses, Bayside, Alkaline Trio, Killswitch Engage, as well as some choices that force the rest of us to put our iPods on.

JD: What are your current thoughts on the outcome of the presidential election?
MS: We're definitely ready to Barack n' roll. Hopefully he can deliver.
