If you've been clicking around the Internet this week, you might have come across a certain article by a Waffles McButter. Mr. McButter, who writes for BroBible.com, recently profiled the women of the Evergreen campus for his weekly College Chick Breakdowns column.

Last Tuesday, a startling, little-known fact was unearthed: Republicans exist in Massachusetts. Being a resident of the Commonwealth myself, this was something of which even I was not entirely aware. In a stunning turn of events that has the most seasoned political analysts still scratching their heads, Republican Scott Brown trounced Democrat Martha Coakley to win a seat in the United States Senate that had not been occupied by a conservative for 38 years.

It's not everyday that you cause your professor to lose her appetite (let's hope so, at least) but that's exactly what I did last week when I forwarded Dr. Dale Snow, Acting Chair of Loyola's Philosophy Department and the woman who mentored me in my first steps towards understanding the importance of feminism, an article I'm sure many of you have seen.

President Obama: champion of us poor college students! If you did catch the State of the Union address, you might have picked up on Obama's attempts to pander to the middle class by constantly referring to the increasing rise of college students and his desire to make college more affordable for everyone.

In his first State of the Union address, President Obama touched on the growing sense of disappointment in the American people acknowledging, "right now, I know there are many Americans who aren't sure if they still believe we can change - or at least, that I can deliver it.

After President Obama's State of the Union address last Wednesday, I had some very mixed feelings. Sure there was the taking responsibility for the deficit spending, the continued push for healthcare reform, and mention of the climate change bill that many thought dead.

Thumbs Up: Hey there Loyola, good job getting big names to come to our little school! First Spike Lee, and then Ron Paul this week? Keep up the good work so that maybe Loyola-Pa-Looza will have a band we know this year! So President Obama spoke to Congress this week and told them about the state of the union and stuff.
