The Greyhound Editorial: Annual Project Mexico Auction puts Jesuit values, mission into practice

Come tomorrow night, McGuire Hall will be a flurry of people and activity as the Center for Community Service and Justice kicks off its annual Project Mexico Auction at 4 p.m. Now in its 18th year, the auction acts as the primary fundraiser for CCSJ's Project Mexico service-immersion trip, an annual 10-day excursion to towns in Mexico, including Tijuana and Mexicali.

The poet Anis Mojgani has said, "Your mouth is a sign of how sacred your life actually is." I find these words rolling around sarcastically in my head as I sit, near-collapse and rich with morning breath, in my 11a.m. while some girl in a distant corner of the room rambles on, barely teetering on the edge of meaning.

Thumbs Up Thumbs Down

Thumbs Up Senior 200s gets to very big thumbs up of improval. Not only was the turnout noticibly higher in McGuire Hall but having pies and pies of pizza lessened everyone's altered state TBS...The Best Station...ever. "Mean Girls," "Clueless," "The Wizard of Oz," and "Lord of the Ring" marathons are only a few of the gems that TBS plays regularly on weekends.

Dobb's resignation causes confusion for some, elation for others

Wednesday night, to the shock of both the journalism world and viewers worldwide, CNN's Lou Dobbs announced on his program that he would be resigning effective immediately at the end of his show. Dobbs said, "I'm the last of the original anchors on CNN and I'm proud to have had the privilege of helping to build the first news network.

My Two Cents: College is much too short to not choose to study abroad

I spent a couple hours the other day doing something that shamefully is not all that out of the ordinary for me: robotically clicking through photo albums on Facebook. The difference on this particular occasion was that in contrast to my usual perusing (read stalking), the albums I was focusing on this time had a particular theme, shared a common thread.

Fort Hood Massacre raises the question: Was it terrorism or plain insanity?

On Thursday November 5th, 2009, Army Major Nidal Malik Hasan allegedly went on a four-minute rampage at the Fort Hood military base in Texas, killing 14, (including one unborn child), and wounding 29. Hasan, a U.S. born Muslim and 39-year-old military psychiatrist, opened fire in the world's largest military base with two weapons.

For everyone living under a rock here, Glee is about cool kids and losers singing together in Glee club while dealing with the horrors of high school.
