MTV, as a major player in the our-opinion-trumps-others music field, has caused a lot of ruckus and backlash from hip-hop fans worldwide. The rappers that appear on this list (in no particular order) are Lil Wayne, Kanye, Drake, Rick Ross, Gucci Mane, Fabolous, 50 Cent, Young Jeezy, Jay-Z, and Raekwon.

A fond farewell to a friend, Elliott Smith

Six years ago, on October 21, 2003, Elliott Smith passed away from stab wounds to the chest. It was around that time that I first heard Smithís music in the Good Will Hunting soundtrack. I liked what I heard, especially the song "Angeles" off of his 1997 album Either/Or and the Good Will Hunting soundtrack.
