The Loyola Men's Soccer team got off to a good start in MAAC play on Saturday, defeating Rider University by a score of 3-0.
The win came after a close loss to non-conference opponent Navy on Tuesday, a game that ended with Loyola conceding the golden goal in extra time.

With first place in the MAAC conference on the line, the Greyhounds found themselves on the winning end of a 1-0 game on Friday at Diane Geppi-Aikens field. The win improved the Hounds (8-4-2, 4-0-0 MAAC) conference unbeaten streak to 22 games and strengthened their stranglehold on first place in the MAAC.

As most football fans have come to learn, the NFL is toying with the idea of increasing the amount of regular season games.
The plan has been talked about by NFL officials since this past offseason and many fans seem to be clamoring for the extension, which would add one or two games to the regular season while removing one or two preseason games accordingly.

The dream is planted young. Pop Warner football players and Babe Ruth ballplayers are trained in "college development" leagues filled with the fantasy that they might one day lace-up on the hallowed ground of their favorite colleges.

Women's Soccer
The women's soccer team at Loyola doesn't get much attention, but that doesn't stop them from absolutely owning MAAC play so far this year.
Over the weekend, the Hounds picked up two more conference wins against Siena and Marist.
